Rabbit

The words of Anik

I went hunting today. The whiteness is deep and smooth. As I walked around I found that it is much easier to track in the whiteness. Creatures foot steps show up on the surface and you can tell how old the tracks are by how much they have melted.

I found the tracks of a rabbit that looked new and started following them. The tracking was easy, even if the walking was not. After an hour or so the tracks ended. I crept up to the bushes that were covered with whiteness. I crawled along on my belly, as I inched my way to where the rabbit hid. I didn’t realize how quickly the whiteness would cool my body

When I reached the bush, knife in hand, I saw that the rabbit had tunneled its way under the snow. It may be easier to track a rabbit, but I don’t think is any easier to catch one.
